Who Are We?

Bonin Dental Care has deep roots in Sonoma County. The practice was originally founded over 30 years ago by Dr. Kurt Mitchler in Healdsburg and moved to Windsor in 2006. In 2021, Dr. Scott Bonin took over with a commitment to preserving the same high standards of care and personal attention that patients have trusted for decades.


With values that align closely with Dr. Mitchler’s legacy, Dr. Bonin continues to deliver thoughtful, relationship-based dentistry, where your comfort and long-term health come first.

Meet Dr. Scott Bonin

  • Education & Early Career

    Dr. Scott Bonin has been helping patients feel comfortable and cared for in the dental chair for over two decades. After earning his Biology degree from UC San Diego, he attended the University of Southern California, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2002 through a health professions scholarship.


    His early career included serving as a Navy dentist and completing a General Practice Residency at Balboa Hospital, where he gained extensive training in both routine and complex dental care. These experiences not only honed his clinical skills but also deepened his commitment to serving others with compassion and respect.

    • Philosophy of Care

      Since 2011, Dr. Bonin has made Sonoma County his professional and family home. Patients often describe his approach as calm, reassuring, and attentive—qualities especially appreciated by those who feel nervous about visiting the dentist.


      Dr. Bonin understands that dental anxiety is real and often rooted in past experiences. That’s why he offers safe and effective sedation options to help patients begin treatment comfortably. Over time, many patients who once needed sedation discover, with his gentle care and encouragement, that they can undergo visits confidently without it. Helping people make that transition from fear to trust is one of the most rewarding parts of his practice.

    • Life Outside the Office

      Outside the office, Dr. Bonin is devoted to his family. He is a proud parent of two young children, Cameron and Aniyah, who keep him young at heart. Whether he’s building Lego creations, playing house, or dancing around the living room during family dance parties, he treasures the chance to be playful and silly with them.


      He also enjoys trail running and volleyball, and values the balance of professional life, family time, and community connections that living in Northern California provides.
